All calculations is done in the same way that international players are ranked, with
some adjustments to apply to Junior Cricket. BATTING For each run scored by the batsman he receives 0.5 points. Batting Bonus Score more then 10 runs = 5 Bonus Points. Score more then 25 runs = 10 Bonus Points. Score more then 50 runs = 15 Bonus Points. Score more then 80 runs = 20 Bonus Points. Score more then 100 runs = 25 Bonus Points. Contribution Bonus The batsman also gets the % of his contribution to the total innings. eg: Total innings score = 125 Player score = 25 Contribution Bonus = (25/125)*100 = 20 Contribution Bonus points. Batting Penalty Score less then 10 runs = -5 Penalty Points. Score less then 1 runs = -10 Penalty Points. The match ranking points are added to the weighted average points. The weighted average The idea with the rankings is to place the batsman that is most in form at the top. For eg.
Using a mathematical principle known as exponential decay, you can produce a weighted average that shows up a player's recent form. In the Ratings formula, each innings counts as 10% less important as you go back in the player's career. This exponential decay will be applied to the ranking points and not the batsman score. BOWLING For each wicket the bowler takes he will earn 15 points. Bowling Bonus Take more then 2 wicket's in a match = 10 Bonus Points. Take more then 5 wicket's in a match = 20 Bonus Points. Take more then 7 wicket's in a match = 30 Bonus Points. Take more then 9 wicket's in a match = 40 Bonus Points. Contribution Bonus The bowler also gets the % of his contribution to the total number of wicket's taken in the match. eg: Total wicket's taken = 8 Wicket's taken by bowler = 4 Contribution Bonus = (4/8)*100 = 50 Contribution Bonus points. Bowling Penalty A Bowler will concede .25 points for every run conceded. If the bowler failed to take a wicket in the match he will concede -10 points. The weighted average This will also apply to bowlers. TIME WEIGHTED FORMULA The system will check every day to find the last match every player played. If the player
has not played for more then 30 days the system will reduce his ranking points earned over
the last 10 matches with 2% for every 7 days he has not played. This will have the effect
that the player will lose 8% of his ranking points after 30 days. There after he will lose
an extra 2% per 7 days he does not play. |
